This frame was made for an Etsy customer of mine who provided the plans and asked if it could be made from purpleheart wood. It holds a 4" x 6" picture and is designed to stand on a table top. This little frame took about 12 hours of work!!!

Jewelry Rack For Erin's Birthday 2010

I made this one-of-a-kind jewelry rack for Erin for her birthday in 2010. It's made from reclaimed wormy granadillo wood that I got from rooting around in a pile of dunnage at the port. The construction is mortise and tenon, and the vertical posts are faceted at the top. Turned knobs hold up the turned horizontal rods that are used for displaying bracelets, rings, and necklaces. It stands about 14" tall.

African Mahogany Arts & Crafts Picture Frames

These picture frames were custom made for Steve F. in Duncansville, PA. They are made from African mahogany, with rosewood pegs. The frames were made with through tenon joints in the corners and pegged through the face of the frames, so these things are built to last. The pegs were faceted in true Arts & Crafts style and the back was rabbeted to accept the pictures. Steve provided the drawing for the frames, which came in very handy.

The frames are about 22" x 29". They are finished in Danish oil and paste wax.

Coat Rack #1

Here's a coat rack I made for the shop. The base is hard maple with lots of birdeye in it. The pegs are made from padauk, and have a chevron design burned around them. The shorter knobs are laurel wood and are there to cover the mounting screws. I finished this piece in Danish oil.

Multi-Species Coasters

I designed these coasters back in 2002 and made twelve sets for Christmas presents. I got an order for a set of these, and made six sets. They're made with birdseye maple, black walnut, padauk, rock maple, purpleheart, spalted oak, and cork. In the side view, you can seen the birdseye maple has contrasting grain and lots of birdseye.

I lined the bottom with felt, signed and dated each of the six new sets. There are 18 of these sets total.
